We are the Ida B. Wells Education Project. We are a collective of multicultural classroom educators who’ve come together to build the movement against racism in schools and classrooms across the US. We know that there is nothing neutral about education and learning in America. We will not be silent while racism and bigotry do harm to our students. As teachers, we recognize that we have a crucial role to play in advocating for our communities and building strong, engaged students who can lead powerful, multicultural movements for change.
We began in June 2020 with a Summer Working Group, creating resources to teach students about Black history and Black struggle, while celebrating Black culture and life. We plan to do so much more. Join us in teaching against racism and help build the movement for justice, equality and liberation from your classroom.
